The DBFC looks for the full enforce of the rights of children and youth in Cambodia, as it is established in the 'Convention of the Rights of the Child' that was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 20 November 1989 (resolution 44/25).{footnote}The General Assembly, in its resolution 50/155 of 21 December 1995 , approved the amendment to article 43, paragraph 2, of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, replacing the word “ten” with the word “eighteen”. The amendment entered into force on 18 November 2002 when it had been accepted by a two-thirds majority of the States parties (128 out of 191).{endnote} The Convention is one of our key documents of inspiration and it is our purpose to promote the rights of the Cambodian children and young people.
